Cosmo

During the early 1960's, he was involved in the Soviet space program that was a relic of that time where he became lost in orbit. (Guardians of the Galaxy v2 #1)

Cosmo met a distraught Nova shortly after he witnessed Suspensor turn into a zombie. He told Nova that he was on Knowhere, a city built inside the giant severed head of a Celestial. Worldmind then informed Nova that he had deciphered the writing on the wall, which was the countdown of a timer, and that beings from all over the universe have come to Knowhere for a kind of front-row seat to observe the end of the universe. (Nova v4 #8) Cosmo brought Nova up to speed on the events, and the Xandarian Worldmind added any data he had at his disposal. Cosmo explained he was mainly concerned with the safety of the remaining citizens of Knowhere who were safely hidden away in a dimensional envelope he wore on his collar, where they had gone into hiding after the Luminals brought something in a big box. Not long after, Cosmo and Nova were ambushed by more zombies, some of which were surviving members of Suspensor's former team, and determined that the creature known as Abyss was behind the mayhem. Together, they fought off the attacks and sealed Abyss back inside his prison. Cosmo then charted a course to the birthplace of the Phalanx, the planet Kvch, in hopes of helping Nova to find a means to cure himself of the Transmode Virus that was slowly killing him. Alarms were triggered when an infected Gamora and Drax, under the control of the Phalanx, slaughtered many residents in search of Nova. Cosmo arrived too late to stop them before they could follow the same path as Nova through the Continuum Cortex. (Nova v4 #9)

In the Secret Invasion, a faction of peaceful Skrulls who followed the ideals of the martyr Anelle were opposed to the plans of conquest by Veranke's Dard'van. As a result, the Skrull High Command sought to purge their ranks of these dissidents who were forced to flee through their underground railroad. They encountered Cosmo and requested his aid in using the Continuum Cortex on Knowhere to escape elsewhere into the universe. Cosmo agreed and asked that they purge his mind after each teleport so that he could better guard their secret. Thus, these Skrulls were secretly moving through Knowhere as they sought shelter from the rest of their kind. (Guardians of the Galaxy v2 #6)

Afterwards, he looked to accomplish the last wish of Star-Lord which was the creation of a more powerful rapid response team of cosmic level individuals that would protect the universe from dangerous threats. Thus, he started to go out to recruit key individuals that included Wendell Vaughn, Silver Surfer, Beta Ray Bill, Ronan the Accuser, and Gladiator where they formed the Annihilators. The team's first assignment was responding to an emergency on Hala when the royal capital of Attilan was attacked by Blastaar who looked to depose Queen Medusa from the throne and claim it for himself. The Annihilators arrived on the scene where they managed to effortlessly defeated the Baluurian whereupon they rendezvoused at Knowhere. (Thanos Imperative: Devastation v1 #1) The team had debated their formation when they received a visitor which was a Spaceknight named Ikonn who attacked them. Though she later revealed that she was not an enemy but a recruit selected for the team and her attack was simply to prove her strength to them. (Annihilators v1 #1)
