History
The Nega-Bands were powerful weapons that were created by the advanced Kree civilization.
Upon encountering a dying boy named Bobby Wright, Hank Pym determined that the properties of the Nega-Bands could help stabilise the boys condition following his exposure to unique radiation that was killing him. Despite the warning from Reed Richards, Pym made the attempt at manufacturing the bands with him seemingly be successful where they did help slow the disease's effects. However, Wright experienced tremendous pain where he lashed out and ultimately his body disintegrated due to his condition. (Power Man and Iron Fist v1 #125)
After departing the Dark Avengers, Noh-Varr remained on the run from the forces of Norman Osborn and during this time he sought to contact this reality's version of the Supreme Intelligence. Upon successful contact, the Kree Supreme Intelligence declared that Noh-Varr would serve as the Protector of Earth and gifted him with a pair of newly forged Nega-Bands. (Dark Avengers Annual v1 #1) These bands deactivated when Noh-Varr betrayed the Kree after he decided to save Earth from the Phoenix Force. (Avengers v4 #27)
Annihilus came to find the Nega-Bands where he decided to use them as a means of opening a tear into the positive-matter universe. He linked one of the bands to himself and the other was sent into the normal universe where it left a portal that provided easy travel between the two dimensions. This allowed him to draw travellers through the tear and into the Negative Zone where he enslaved them to create a powerful cannon that he intended to fire into the positive-matter universe. This scheme accidently drew the Avengers where they managed to free themselves and use the Nega-Bands to return to their home dimension. (All-New, All-Different Avengers v1 #11)
