Jin's sudden disappearance came to leave the Mishima Zaibatsu in a state of chaos. This allowed his grandfather Heihachi to reclaim the company in his absence. After his supposed sacrifice whilst defeating Azazel put him into a comatose state, his body was found by the UN and taken into their custody. Jin awakens in a UN helicopter, wrapped in a straight jacket, and destroys the helicopter with a devil laser. Waking up in a weakened state, Jin walks aimlessly through the desert beneath the sandstorms of the Middle East. When UN Peacekeepers track him down Jin's eyes glow red, and he unleashes a devil beam into the sky, which sends the soldiers flying. Jin soon arrives in a market while clutching his right arm. He seems disorientated and still weakened. UN soldiers again track him down, but Lars drove an armored car into the Souq, gunned down a number of Peacekeepers, and rescues Jin. Lars carries Jin into his vehicle and drives away from their pursuers. Jin is later transported to a medical facility owned by Violet Systems to recover from his comatose state. However, Nina, who has been forced to work for Heihachi, infiltrates the facility to recover Jin and take him back to the Mishima Zaibatsu. The plan is foiled by Lee Chaolan, who flies Jin to safety and then remotely detonates the facility. Awakening from his coma after Heihachi has been killed by Kazuya, Jin approaches Lars, Lee, and Alisa on a rooftop and agrees to help them take down Kazuya, who is still continuing the war despite his victory. Jin says that he is now the only one who can stop his father due to the Devil's blood that runs through his veins, and he was prepared to destroy Kazuya and end the cursed Mishima bloodline once and for all. | Jin's sudden disappearance came to leave the Mishima Zaibatsu in a state of chaos. Biography
Jin Kazama (Japanese: 風間 仁 Hepburn: Kazama Jin) was a Japanese male who was born in the modern age where he was the son of Kazuya Mishima and Jun Kazama. His mother then took him as they moved to a remote location in the mountains of her home island of Yakushima. Whilst there, she raised her son and looked to train him in the Kazama family's self-defense fighting style. When he was 15 years old, he came to learn that he was the son of Kazuya Mishima. During this time, his mother was seemingly killed at the hands of Ogre and he managed to survive the monsters attack. He later went to seek out his grandfather Heihachi Mishima where he trained in martial arts under his supervision. This was because he intended to fight and defeat Ogre in order to avenge his mother. After defeating Ogre, he was confronted by the Tekken Force who had been ordered by Heihachi to kill Jin. Though seemingly killed, he revived when his body began to mutate into a devil where he defeated his grandfather and proceeded to escape from the scene. The experience caused him to hate everything about the Mishima bloodline and he looked to distance himself from it.
Kazama came to relocate to Brisbane, Australia where the young man trained quietly in a secluded small dojo that was nestled amongst the towering buildings. One day, he came to hear rumours of a new King of Iron Fist Tournament being announce and decided to use this as a opportunity to exterminate the Mishima clan leading to him entering into the fight. He was about to confront his father until Heihachi's soldiers capture him. Imprisoned in the Hon-Maru dojo, Jin felt presence of his father Kazuya which caused him to mutate into a devil once again. After his Devil form awakened, Jin fought and defeated Kazuya whereupon Heihachi fought his grandson in order to claim the Devil power for himself. This resulted in a fight where Jin tried to kill Heihachi but ended up sparing him after remembering his mother and abandons the area flying.
Afterwards, he came to struggle with the Devil Gene that was growing in power within him. This saw Jin returning to Yakushima where he suffered from recurring nightmares. He later heard of a new King of Iron Fist Tournament that was held by Jinpachi Mishima who had become corrupted by the Devil Gene. This saw Jin Kazama taking part in the tournament where he was defeated by his rival Hwoarang but the Devil power within him took over where he brutally injured his opponent. He then proceeded to defeat Wang Jinrei before confronting his great grandfather Jinpachi where he triumphed in their fight. With Jinpachi defeated, his great grandfather turned to sand and dissipated whereupon Jin took the throne of the Mishima Zaibatsu for himself.
Heading the Mishima Zaibatsu, he began to use its elite Tekken Force to carry out covert missions to cause chaos around the world. This act rendered most countries military power being made useless as he came to seize control of energy resources such as oil fields and space colonies. With this newfound power, Jin declared independence and decided to declare war against the rest of the world. The Mishima Zaibatsu swept through the world as they took over nation after nation leading to new forces forming to oppose him. Among these were the G Corporation that was under the control of his father Kazuya who put a price on Jin's head. In response, Jin Kazama came to announce a new King of Iron Fist Tournament as he sensed that this was now an opportunity for such an event.
Aside from G Corporation, Jin's other rival at this time comes from within his own company. A faction of Tekken Force, led by Lars, rebels against Jin's tyranny and forms the rebel army, Yggdrasil, funded by Lee Chaolan. It was later revealed that the war and tournament were set into play to fill the world with enough negative energy to make the physical form of the evil entity known as Azazel, because Jin and Kazuya are known as the 'Two Evil Stars'. Having been "defeated" by Lars Alexandersson, Jin explained to him why he started the war. He revealed that he heard Azazel in his mind, and that the demon was already awake but wanted Jin to help it gain a physical form. Believing that he could destroy the demon for good if he gave it a physical form, Jin decided to complete enough of the prophecy to allow Azazel to appear. He then intended to lure Azazel out and kill it, saving the world from the Mishima devil bloodline in the process which was linked to Azazel's blood. Jin knew that only someone with a Devil Gene could kill Azazel, and believed he could wipe out his own devil gene, the demon, and also topple many corrupt governments and corporations around the world in the process. Lars told Jin that he had already taken Azazel out, but Azazel rose again before them. Jin then utilized his Devil's power and sacrificed himself to kill Azazel for good. After Jin defeated Azazel, Raven found Jin's body lying in the desert. He still bore the Devil tattoo on his arm, showing that Azazel's demise has not freed him from the Devil Gene.
After defeating Azazel, Jin Kazama was apprehended by U.N. troops where his unconscious body was being transported by helicopter when he became possessed by his devil form. He then ripped free from his straitjacket tore through the helicopter's fuselage with a powerful beam attack after which he escaped.
He joined forces with Lars Alexandersson, and together they prepared to commence Operation Lightning, a plan to eliminate the other bearer of the devil gene, Kazuya Mishima. Jin had once plunged the world into chaos in order to resurrect Azazel, the devil gene's progenitor. His plan was to permanently extinguish the devil gene by defeating Azazel once and for all, even if it cost him his own life. While Jin managed to defeat Azazel, he lost consciousness and fell into a deep sleep. During his absence, G Corporation, led by Kazuya, took over the world by force. Several months later, Jin finally regained consciousness. His deadly struggle with Azazel had taught him how to control his inner devil power. Jin swore to end Kazuya's reign of terror in order to atone for the war and destruction he had caused. Jin Kazama is seen riding on a motorcycle to find and eliminate Kazuya Mishima under Lars' orders during "Operation Lightning". After spotting the helicopter that Kazuya is riding in, Jin throws his motorcycle at it, causing it to crash and forcing Kazuya out. The two begin to do battle, and Jin unleashes his Devil form in an attempt to kill Kazuya. However, Kazuya unleashes his own Devil form to fight back against Jin, and Jin was ultimately defeated. Jin is then seen sinking deeper into his own subconscious. He sees a vision of his devil form reaching out to him, attempting to get Jin to utilize his devil abilities once more, but Jin rejects the hand held out to him. As his consciousness fades, Jin sees a vision of his mother, Jun Kazama.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Jin Kazama was a Japanese male who had black hair that spike at the back of his head making him similar to his father though he had fringes similar to his mother. By adulthood, he was notable for his muscular body yet low fat percentage that showcased his many years of hard training. He came to be known by a number of titles that included Lightning of Fate, Fatal Lightning, the Child of Destiny and as the Destroyer of Worlds. Succumbing to the Devil Gene led to him being known as Devil Jin (Japanese: デビル仁, Hepburn: Debiru Jin).
It was originally said that he used to be a sweet and nice person.
Jin's personality ranges from stoic and calm to rude and arrogant at times, and his words and actions hint at bitterness within him. Although he is portrayed as a monster in his devil form, in general, he is never portrayed as self-serving and cruel. In fact, all his actions were made under the belief that he was doing it for a good reason.
The Devil Jin sought to acquire ultimate power and would do anything in order to achieve it.
Over time, Jin became much more erratic in his behavior and his good intentions become warped, corrupted by his losing battle with his devil.
In his position as the CEO of the Mishima Zaibatsu, he attempted to throw the world into chaos in the hopes of destroying his and the Devil Gene. Throughout this, he still believes his intentions are benevolent and justifies his actions as 'bringing balance to the world'. He seeks to use global warfare to awaken and then destroy a much greater threat which was Azazel. Believing that defeating this monster could help get rid of his curse, Jin has been the cause of countless deaths and wars throughout the world, and gained many enemies through the course of his actions. At this time, Jin also expressed a belief that by causing so much chaos and destruction, he would topple corrupt governments and corporations throughout the world, giving people a chance to retake their countries from evil governing organizations. Jin shows little interest in ruling such a world, unlike Heihachi and Kazuya, and seems primarily interested in destroying those parts of it that he believes are 'out of balance', a position that echoes both the destructiveness of his devil, and a warped version of his mother's precepts and Kazama teachings of harmony. This suggests that Jin has not completely lost himself to his devil, and still struggles against it, despite his once good intentions being distorted.
Jin was the son of Kazuya Mishima and Jun Kazama though he was raised by his mother alone. He later came to learn that Hehiachi Mishima was his paternal grandfather who proved to be a reliable teacher.
After Heihachi's betrayal, Jin came to loathe everything about the Mishima family ranging from his relations, his bloodline, their fighting style and even the Devil Gene inside of him. This led to him gaining a burning desire to destroy the evil Mishima bloodline of his father and grandfather. He once swore to end everything by killing his father Kazuya though was shown to show mercy when he saw visions of his mother.
It was a desire to avenge the loss of his mother that saw him training in order to fight against Ogre.
Jin knew Xiaoyu and became her friend prior to the third tournament whilst they trained under his grandfather, Heihachi, and attended the Mishima Polytechnical School together. When Jin was in hiding, he sent Xiaoyu an anonymous message warning her that Heihachi may be looking to have her killed; Xiaoyu knew the message was from Jin, and entered the fourth tournament and some subsequent tournaments in hopes of being reunited with him.
Powers and abilities
From his father, he came to inherit the Devil Gene (デビルの血 Debiru no Chi?, Devil's Blood) that was a supernatural genetic abnormality within him. This caused him to be host to a parasitic 'devil' that resided within him whose influence and power was corrupting on him. Kazama was plagued by nightmares constantly caused by the devil within him and risked succumbing to its influence.
He came to train under Heihachi Mishima who was a reliable teacher and learnt martial arts under him. It was noted that he spent four years mastering the Kazama and Mishima fighting styles as he began his path as a martial artist. Jin later gave up the Mishima-Ryu fighting style where he underwent learning from a dojo master's training and mastered traditional karate.
Among the techniques known to him included:
- Wind God Fist (風神拳, Fūjinken) :
- Demon Backhand Spin (裏拳二段, Riken nidan, lit: Double Back Fist) :
- Dragon Uppercut (雷神拳, Raijinken, "Thunder God Fist") :
- Corpse Hit (骸打ち, Mukurouchi) :
- Super Headbutt (超ぱちき, Chō Pachiki?) : Stonehead
- Spiral Blade Assault Kick (螺旋襲刃脚, Rasen Shuujin Kyaku) : Rising Sun
He was able to enter into a stance named Omen (兆候 kizashi?) where he allowed the Devil Jin to possess him. When succumbing to his evil nature, he was able to transform into a more powerful form named Devil Jin (デビル仁 Debiru Jin?). In this state, he manifested black wings and horns with his eyes turning yellow.
