History
Origin
The Living Assault Weapons (L.A.W.) was a task force consisting of superpowered beings and vigilantes that were formed into a team of heroes by the U.S. government. (Living Assault Weapons v1 #2) Their origins were traced to the activities of the supervillain Avatar who was a powerful mystical being where his abilities allowed him to deal with the Justice League. This saw him approaching their Justice League Watchtower on the Moon and cause it to disappear leaving Earth helpless as its premiere team of superheroes had gone missing.
