Ra's al Ghul

Ra's al Ghul led a secret society known as the Society of Shadows in his centuries old goal to save the planet and humanity by reducing the human population. The man whom he respected most and proved to be his greatest adversary was the Batman.

In a big battle known only as the Near Apocalypse of '09, Ra's al Ghul suffered his greatest defeat at the hands of Batman, thanks in part to Talia's treachery. His body was broken, beyond the help of the Lazarus Pits. His only hope of survival was a new device that would allow him to transfer his brainwaves and personality into another. However, the machine was still new, and would only work if the victim had a similar genetic make-up. With that in mind, he chose his traitor daughter Talia to be his avatar, destroying her consciousness and replacing it with his own.

He spent years waiting so he could finally take his revenge on Batman. Ra's al Ghul, as Talia, later approached an elderly Bruce Wayne and convinced him to use the Lazarus Pit to restore his youth. He tried to make Wayne believe that he'd live happily ever after with his one true love, and could use Ra's al Ghul's old empire to right the wrongs caused in the past. Bruce soon discovered the truth, but was captured and placed into the improved machine so that Ra's al Ghul could take his body. Ra's al Ghul was defeated thanks to the new Batman, Terry McGinnis, and perished as the temple exploded. After so many centuries, the Demon's Head was dead.
