Biography

Jarella was a female inhabitant of the Sub-Atomic world of K'ai that was located in the Microverse. (Incredible Hulk v1 #140)

Around this time, there was much conflict over control over the subatomic world with among these being from Warlord Visis who wanted to claim Jarella for himself and thus the throne. By this point, it was deemed that Jarella was to find a mate though law forbade her to marry anyone unless they proved their worthy in battle against the dreaded warthos. It was then that her city came under attack from the gigantic beasts that were defeated and driven away by the Hulk who had recently arrived on her world. For his actions, he was hailed a hero and queen Jarella decided to grant him any boon that he asked of her. She believed his arrival was a sign from the Jade Goddess that this was to be her intended mate and husband. However, the Hulk could not understand her language and she tasked the Pantheon of Sorcerers to mystically implant their tongue into the warrior's mind. The sorcerers enacted a spell that not only allowed them to teach him their language but also resulted in the Hulk's human mind of Bruce Banner to emerge in control of the Green Goliath's body. In a short time, the Hulk and Jarella fell in love where Banner promised to be her king, protector and husband. A plot by the noble Visis saw him send assassins to murder the married couple but this was easily thwarted by the Hulk who then publicly revealed the conspiracy to the people. As a result, Visis fell from grace and the Hulk came to accept his new life as Jarella's husband where he intended to stay on his new adopted home. Unfortunately, the villainous Psyklop interfered and snatched the Hulk away from K'ai with the Green Goliath restored to his normal size thus leaving a bereft Jarella behind. (Incredible Hulk v1 #140)

After her death, she was survived by her niece Jentorra who lived on K'ai when it was invaded by the Psyklops. In desperation, she sought to summon the Hulk with this instead bringing Hiro-Kala to her world by accident. (Realm of Kings: Son of Hulk v1 #3) During the Chaos War, the actions of Amatsu-Mikaboshi tore down the barriers between the living and the dead. This allowed Jarella to manifest with other loved ones where he assisted her husband in his fight against his father Brian Banner after he was returned back to life as the Devil Hulk. Using the power of the Hulk's love for her, she came to empower herself and launched a devastating attack against the Devil Hulk thus weakening him to the point to allow the Hulk to vanquish him. (Incredible Hulks v1 #620)
