Biography
Dende (Japanese: デンデ, Hepburn: Dende) was one of the youngest Namekians, and one of Guru's many offspring. Dende joined up with Gohan and Krillin after they saved him from Frieza's thugs, and they became friends. Dende's healing abilities made him an invaluable aid during the battle against Frieza, saving the Z Warriors' lives several times. He traveled with the rest of his people to New Namek, settling down to a new life there.
Years later, after Kami remerged with Piccolo, the Earth was left without a Guardian- or Dragon Balls. To regain both, Goku traveled to New Namek, and brought Dende back to Earth to become the new Guardian. He held that role thereafter, assisted by Mr. Popo.
