Biography
Origin
Zazzala was a female inhabitant of the hiveworld of Korll. (JLA v1 #36)
She was contacted by Lex Luthor in joining the new incarnation of the Injustice Gang alongside Prometheus and the General in attacking the Justice League. In exchange for her aid, she was to be offered half of Earth's population to be her drone-slaves. (JLA v1 #36) Queen Bee participated in the attack on the Justice League Watchtower with her calling upon her swarms to attack Earth. (JLA v1 #37) She then proceeded to Earth's surface where she had her forces and those under her control to begin building a hive with the royal eggmatrix. (JLA v1 #38)

Personality and attributes
She preferred to be addressed by her title which was the Royal Genetrix, Omni-Conscious and All-Fulfilling, Her Eternal Majesty, the Queen Bee. (JLA v1 #36)
Concepts such as relative beauty and flattery were meaningless to her people. (JLA v1 #36)
Queen Bee that it was her and her peoples biological right to claim a world's resources. (JLA v1 #38)
Powers and abilities
Biologically, she was a genetically accelerated insect-humanoid. (JLA v1 #37) As a result, she shared some traits with those of bees allowing her to smell and taste like humans but her hearing was poor. Furthermore, she could see into the ultraviolet range but was blind to the colour red. (JLA v1 #38) She made use of psycho-pollen that had anaesthetic qualities that dulled pain in addition to mind control capabilities that removed the individuality to those exposed to it. This hypno-pollen allowed her to take control of her enemies and make them serve her. (JLA v1 #37)
She was served by her swarm with it following her wherever she went in space. (JLA v1 #36) Zazzala could make use of a techno-pheromone to summon her hordes to her with them swarming over worlds and setting up hives for their queen. During attacks, they deployed pollen-warheads in order to make slaves of the native populations that were used in the construction of an empire. (JLA v1 #37) Hypo-pollen factories were then established to provide the simply work skills for slaves with the air being made to auto-program a target races caste-role in the hive hierarchy. (JLA v1 #38)

- Queen Bee was created by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky where she made her first appearance in Justice League of America v1 #23 (November, 1963).
In other media
Television
- In Justice League Unlimited, the character of Zazzala made cameo appearances in the show's third season premiere where she was seen as a background member of Gorilla Grodd's Secret Society. In the episode "Far From Home", a robotic duplicate of Queen Bee and Doctor Cyber were seen fighting Supergirl as part of a training purpose. Beyond those two appearances, the character did not feature in the animated series.
Video games
- In Justice League Heroes, the character made an appearance as a boss villain where she was voiced by Abby Craden. She was shown to had arrived on Earth with her Bee-people that consisted of transformed civilians with a hive being formed underground beneath Metropolis. Queen Bee allied herself with the villainous Brainiac though she would claim that this was a temporary arrangement as she intended to conquer Earth for herself. Her activities drew the attention of members of the Justice League that entered into her lair where they battled her and defeated Queen Bee. With their leader defeated, her followers were transformed back into their normal forms.
- In DC Universe Online, the character made an appearance in the MMORPG where she was voiced by Cyndi Williams. Zazzala was the Queen Bee and the leader of H.I.V.E. who sought to control Earth leading to her being an antagonist to both the superheroes and the supervillains. She would join forces with Brainiac who she saw as the perfect partner and King for the H.I.V.E. thus leading to her forces assisting his mechanical minions. Zazzala would order his subordinates to retrieve Exobyte in S.T.A.R. Lab and LexCorp Transports by the Metropolis Metrodome with the intention of bringing them to Brainiac. Her plan would be stopped by the players who infiltrated her base and defeated her. Queen Bee would later return where she would hypnotize Booster Gold leading to the players battling him.
