Erik Selvig was a male human of Scandinavian origin who as a child grew up on stories about Norse myth of the gods of [[Asgard (Marvel)|Asgard]]. By adulthood, he came s professor of Theoretical Astrophysics at Culver University. During this time, he looked into the nature of Gamma Radiation and met Bruce Banner who was a victim of one such accident involving it. At some point,this, he encountered [[S.H.I.E.L.D.]] when they confiscated some documents that belonged to a friend. At school, he met both [[Jane Foster (Marvel)|Jane Foster]] and her father with him being a close friend of their family. He later travelled with Jane Foster and [[Darcy Lewis]] where they studied thermonuclear astrophysics.

Erik Selvig

He was the chief scientist in S.H.I.E.L.D.s Kobik Program that utilized fragments of Cosmic Cubes to alter reality. (Avengers Standoff: Assault On Pleasant Hill Alpha v1 #1)
