Little is known about this race except that they created a dimensional tunnel that originated from another universe with the express purpose of invading the mainstream one. An assassin from this race was deployed onto the [[Andromeda Ascendant]] with the intention of sabotaging the creation of a new [[Systems Commonwealth]]. Several of the delegates were killed before the assassin was found and killed. However, the aliens simply used their phasing battleships to begin the invasion which threatened to destroy the races that assembled at the delegation. The aliens would have succeeded in overwhelming the galaxy had not the [[Eureka Maru]] deployed a powerful bomb which destroyed the tunnel thus severing the aliens attempts at coming into the universe.

They also possessed starships which were smaller then Glorious Heritage class heavy cruisers but much more maneuverable. Pocket universe alien mindset seemed to rely on large numbers of warships to swarm enemy targets in order to overwhelm them. Invader dimensional technology went in line with their tactics as they suddenly made surprise attacks whilst disappearing in order to avoid retaliatory strikes. They possessed [[Tessaract]] technology allowing individual soldiers to phase through walls and attack suddenly which catches their enemies offguard. These devices were also used on their starships allowing them to phase into normal space and then disappear once again. This gave them the capacity to attack and retreat in order to escape any retailitory fire.

Amongst the greatest feat used by these aliens was the capacity to harness the power of a galaxy and use specific generators to shatter the boundaries between dimensions. This allowed them to create interdimensional tunnels into other universes with which they could invade and also used specific generators to remotely power their dimensional shifting technology. (Episode: The Tunnel at the End of the Light) It was this field of science that allowed them to also create holes within space which was capable of sucking anything within the target location into the vortex. Furthermore, it allowed the aliens to create doorways from one location to another allowing them to travel interstellar distances without the need of a starship. Their advanced science also allowed them to scavenge technology in order to recreate such machinery. (Episode: Delenda Est)

The aliens had the capacity to open dimensional tunnels that allowed them to create gateways to other universes which they used to invade these new realms. The power generation capacity for such a portal was incredibly high which meant that it's destruction would prevent the aliens from forming a new one.

The Interdimensional aliens are an unknown species that featured in Andromeda.

History

The interdimensional aliens capturing Rommie.

These aliens were believed to be native to another dimension which was speculated to be a pocket universe or another universe entirely that was separate from the main universe. Their origins and history were largely unknown except that it was believed that they had somehow managed to harness the power of every star within a galaxy and accumulated that energy over the a period of 10,000 years through the use of an advanced generator capable of punching a hole through reality. (Episode: The Tunnel at the End of the Light) Their home dimension was said to be one full of darkness with a gnashing of teeth and war. (Episode: If the Wheel is Fixed) After the collapse of the Systems Commonwealth and during the years of the Long Night in CY 100088, the aliens made their move by opening a hole in reality where their generator began to allow their soldiers as well as starships to dimension shift. Several of their warriors managed to board the Andromeda Ascendant without its crew being aware of the infiltration where the aliens managed to eliminate several individuals on the vessel before they were repelled. Just as the boarders were eliminated, an alien starship emerged and began targeting the Glorious Heritage class heavy cruiser and faced little reprisal due to the warships dimension shifting capabilities which prevented the Andromeda Ascendant from harming it. Slowly, more and more alien warships began to arrive on the scene from the dimensional portal but several of their vessels were destroyed by the Andromeda Ascendant due to the unique abilities of Trance Gemini who directed weapon fire. The arrival of the Sabra-Jaguar Pride fleet also helped turn the tide against the aliens despite the invaders holding a ten to one advantage. (Episode: The Tunnel at the End of the Light)

According to Trance Gemini in "The Tunnel at the End of the Light", she came from a future where the "Andromeda Ascendant" was attacked by the pocket universe aliens and were overwhelmed as a result. Their dimensional portal was destroyed by Beka Valentine and Trance but they were the only survivors as a result.

At the height of the battle, around 10,000 enemy warships began to emerge from the dimensional tunnel. In order to prevent an outright conquest of their universe, Captain Dylan Hunt authorized the deployment of a specially modified Nova bomb launched by the Eureka Maru into the portal. Despite dimension shifting one of their warriors onto the transports bridge, the aliens failed in preventing the Eureka Maru from launching the bomb which detonated and destroyed the interdimensional doorway. This act severed the link between the aliens and their power source which was believed to had been destroyed as a result and forcibly dimension shifted their forces outside the universe they were invading thus seemingly ending the threat posed by them. (Episode: The Tunnel at the End of the Light) Despite this defeat, the aliens managed to drag both Beka Valentine and Tyr Anasazi temporarily into the wormhole where they began to remotely send an energy wave that matched their nervous sytems. Through this process, they managed to brainwash the pair and attempted to use them to open up the dimensional tunnel and forced the Andromeda Ascendant through it. (Episode: If the Wheel is Fixed) The invaders left behind from this point were not stranded but rather an advance group ready to make way for the next invasion force from their staging grounds in their home dimension. (Episode: Delenda Est)

The aliens later established themselves on a remote volcanic planet where they created a base deep in the many tunnels on that planet. They then began assembling equipment in order to create an interdimensional doorway for their purposes which started with them raiding starships in order to remove the most powerful devices on them. These machines were taken to the planet where they were fashioned into a generator that used the plasma from the planet's core as an energy source but not in a fast or efficient manner. This did, however, allow them to open tears in dimensions as well as shift their vessels out of reality. The invaders used the generator to create tears in the fabric of reality in several locations throughout the Known Worlds causing a series of incidents before it ending. Afterwards, they moved against the Andromeda Ascendant once more where they created holes in reality to eliminate the crew which failed before moving against their main objective; the android Rommie. The invaders managed to capture her and dimensionally transport her to their base of operations where they hooked her into a machine to direct the energy receiver of their main generator. This allowed them to open an interdimensional tunnel once more though Rommie stated that there was something bigger that was approaching which was in a lot of hurry. Accepting their loss, the aliens presented Dylan Hunt with a sword signalling that he was to face a much greater threat in the coming future. (Episode: Delenda Est)

Background

The face of one of the aliens

These invaders appeared to be humanoid beings with distinctive smooth features such as scaly skin with some dreadlocks as their hair. Their species never demonstrated the ability to communicate in Common with the only distinctive features being hisses emanating from their forms. They had helmets that seemed to merge into their bodies with black eyes with some form of advanced HUD system being integrated that allowed them to scan targets. Their arms had the capacity of unsheating blades which they used to kill their enemies by slicing them in half or badly maimimg them. (Episode: The Tunnel at the End of the Light) In addition, these blades were capable of producing an electrical shock capable of shooting a short ranged stun blast that had the ability to knock out an android. They also possessed starships which were smaller then Glorious Heritage class heavy cruisers but much more maneuverable.
