In other media

Television

  • In The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Prison 42 was created by Tony Stark, Hank Pym and Reed Richards with it being situated in the Negative Zone. Due to Loki's actions, Earth's various supervillains were broken free from containment and the prisons no longer capable of holding them. This lead to Stark, Pym and Richards sifting through various designs on where to contain the freed supervillains. Prison 42 was the 42nd idea that they had which was built in the Negative Zone and staffed by various Ultron synthoids to keep the prisoners contained.

Video games

  • In Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, Prison 42 was created in the Negative Zone by the supporters of the Registration Act as a place where unregistered heroes and supervillains were kept imprisoned. The villains were kept contained through the use of nanites that mind-controlled them. It was the site where the nanites evolved sentience to become the Fold where they attempted to take over the prison. Nick Fury attempted to stop the spread of the Fold to Earth by self-destructing Prison 42 but failed in this goal.
