Terror Dog

Terror Dogs were the monstrous dog-like servants of Gozer. They were lion-sized, hairless quadrupeds with glowing red eyes, tails, and curved horns protruding from the sides of their heads. Although physical beings and not spirits, the Terror Dogs were nonetheless capable of demonic possession, and although they looked and behaved like nothing more than dogs, they were actually sentient, intelligent creatures who could speak (as humans) and perform human-like acts, such as copulation.

Notable Terror Dogs are Zuul and Vinz Clortho, who possessed Dana Barrett and Louis Tully, giving their human hosts supernatural abilities such as levitation, electroconductivity, and demonic growling. After a long journey which saw Zuul encounter Peter Venkman and Vinz Clortho captured by the Ghostbusters, the two dogs finally met at the Shandor Building. The couple wasted little time acting on their primal urges, kissing passionately and successfully having sex through their hosts human bodies in front of the Temple of Gozer before opening the portal through which their master would enter this dimension. With the door open the two demons got down on all fours, shed their human forms and transformed back into their native, dog-like forms. The newly transformed Terror Dogs witnessed the final battle, but once Gozer was defeated, they morphed back to statues holding their prior human hosts trapped inside.

  The Terror Dogs finally meet in the rubble of Dana Barrett's destroyed apartment.

  After having demonic sex atop the stone altar, the Terror Dog, known as Zuul, sits up in a trance-like state. She basks in the supernatural smoke forming around her while her demonic partner, Vinz Clortho, lies asleep next to her.

  Zuul sits up and analyzes her surroundings. Vinz Clortho wakes up beside her with a big grin on his face. They stare at each other before noticing the Temple of Gozer.

  The Terror Dogs walk down the steps of the alter towards two opposite pedestals. Vinz Clortho stares in awe at the temple while Zuul seductively slithers down the steps.

  The Terror Dogs shuffle towards their respective pedestals. Above them, supernatural bolts of lightning strike the peak of the Temple of Gozer.

  Zuul stands atop her respective pedestal. The demonic beast glitters with sweat as she stares at the temple.

  Vinz stands atop his respective pedestal as he stares in awe at the temple.

• 

  Zuul continues to stare at the temple as she raises her arms to the sky, ready to complete the final step in summoning her master, Gozer.

•

  The Terror Dogs are struck by supernatural lightning bolts. They miraculously redirect them towards the temple gates, which slowly open.

• 

  The demons thrash about violently as they are struck by supernatural lightning. Their human bones glow as they slowly succumb to the lightning storm.

  Zuul and Vinz get down on all fours and instantly transform into their natural, Terror Dog forms. As the lightning runs off of their beastly bodies, their new, demonic skeletons are revealed.

• 

  As the last of the lightning escapes their dog-like bodies, the newly transformed Terror Dogs bark and snarl ferociously at the Ghostbusters, who had witnessed their demonic transformation.

  The Terror Dogs grunt and snort as they dismount their pedestals and make their way up to the Temple of Gozer.

• 

  The Terror Dogs leap up the stairs of the Temple of Gozer and lie down on their respective pedestals.

• 

  The Terror Dogs look to the shining temple doors as their master, Gozer, manifests from within them.

• 

  Gozer walks towards one of her Terror Dogs, Vinz with the intention of petting him in order to reward him for summoning her. He lowers his head as the other Terror Dog, Zuul watches from afar.
