• Starcraft: January. General Duke joins the Sons of Korhal after his ship, Norad II crashes on Antiga Prime and his men are overwhelmed by the Zerg. The Sons of Korhal use a Psi Emitter to lure the Zerg into destroying Confederate forces on Antiga Prime, and Protoss forces under Tassadar wipe out the remaining Zerg there. Days later, the same tactic is used on Tarsonis, the Confederate capitol world, and Kerrigan is abandoned on the world. She is believed dead, but actually is captured by the Zerg. With the Confederacy destroyed, Arcturus Mengsk forms the Terran Dominion. (Starcraft)

• Starcraft: After January. The Zerg retreat from Tarsonis to their base world of Char, where Kerrigan arises from her chrysalis as an enhanced Infested Terran. Tassadar contacts the exiled Dark Templars and uses techniques learned from them to fight the Zerg, but is deemed a criminal as a result. The Zerg lead an invasion of Aiur, culminating in the Overmind's destruction. (Starcraft)

• Starcraft: After January. After months of observation, the United Earth Directorate sends an expeditionary force to deal with the threat posed by the Zerg and Protoss. (Starcraft: Brood War)
