Cana Alberona is a female anime and manga character who features in Fairy Tail.

Biography

Cana Alberona (Japanese: カナ・アルベローナ, Hepburn: Kana Aruberōna) was a female human born in the Year X766 in the Earthlands where she was the daughter of Cornellia and Gildarts Clive. Her parents met briefly where they engaged in a brief romantic relationship before her father departed. Unknown to Gildarts, Cornellia was pregnant with his daughter with Cana being born sometime afterwards. As a young girl, her mother came to pass away and Cana went in search of her father where her travelling companion was her dog. At some point, she was noted to had stayed at a church orphanage in Magnolia when she was a child. In that time, she came to learn that her father had been a wizard of the Fairy Tail guild that was located in Fiore. Eventually, she came to reach the guild hall and began staying there but felt too intimidated to reveal herself as being Gildarts daughter. Gildarts himself gave her little to no attention as he conducted his normal activities where he often disappeared for a long time only to return to the guild briefly before continuing on his adventures. In that time, Cana came to join the Fairy Tail guild in the hope that she would work up the courage to tell Gildarts that he was her father. She came to see other young wizards joining the guild that were a similar age as herself with these including Gray Fullbuster, Natsu Dragneel, Erza Scarlet, Mirajane Strauss, Elfman Strauss and Lisanna Strauss many of whom joined after her. However, as time went on, she came to find it more and more difficult to tell him the truth where she decided to do so if she qualified as an S-Class Mage. This led to her undertaking the exam but she came to fail the 4 times she attended leading to her beginning to despair. During those years, she came to see new young recruits such as Erza and Mirajane both surpass her despite joining Fairy Tail after Alberone.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Cana Alberona was a tall, slim, young human girl with an ample bust and tan skin with long dark brown hair.

One of her most notable traits was her great love for alcoholic beverages and a strong alcoholic resistance to the point that it bordered on being an addiction. Typically, she was seen drinking directly from a large beer barrel when she was at the guild. It was shown that she started drinking when she was 13 years old which was 2 years before the legal age. The frequency of her drinking had grown to the point where 30% of Fairy Tail's liquor budget goes to her.

Eventually, she no longer cared about being an S-Class Mage or even if she told her father how she felt with her instead being devoted to protecting her friends.

Her father was Gildarts Clive (ギルダーツ ・クライヴ Girudātsu Kuraivu) and her mother was Cornelia (コーネリア Kōneria) with the two meeting and falling in love years ago. However, her father's constant work led to her leaving him 18 years ago when she was pregnant with his daughter. This led to him not being aware about the birth of Cana who decided to seek her father out.

Powers and abilities

Cana was born a human with magic power where she used a type of Holder Magic that stemmed on the use of Magic Cards (魔法の札マジックカード Majikku Kādo) that he could use to produce a variety of effects.

For her magic, she carried with her a deck of Magic Cards (魔法の札マジックカード Majikku Kādo) that she used for her various spells.

She came to be a longstanding member of the Fairy Tail (妖精の尻尾フェアリーテイル Fearī Teiru) guild.
