Biography
Ami Han was a female individual who was descended from the legendary Kumiho. Her grandmother was one of these mythical Nine-Tailed Foxes who traditionally preyed on humans but in her case she fell in love with a mortal. This man was Ami’s grandfather who helped her grandmother uncover her humanity. Their union eventually led to the birth of Ami Han who was considered the last of the Kumiho. (Civil War II: Choosing Sides v1 #5) Ami was born in the hills outside Seoul where she came to learn from her parents that it was their sacred duty to protect their home. (Domino: Hotshots v1 #4) Her mother cared for her deeply and showed Ami her Kumiho heritage whilst warning her of the danger of the three legged Samjokgu dogs. One day, her mother was set upon by humans and the Samjokgu where they killed her with this event scarring Ami. Since that day, she resolved herself in hiding her true nature and she sought to better blend among humans. Ami came to transfer to a new school where she made a friend in Yeji Sul who had a interest in Korean history and folklore. Sul's family had been targets of the Yongsan Brothers gang who abducted her in order to extort her for money. This saw Ami deciding to intervene despite trying to hide her true nature and she used her powers to help save Yeji. This led to an encounter with the Yongsan Brothers lieutenant who was actually a Samjokgu. Ami embracing her heritage allowed her to overcome the three-legged dog spirit in his human form and he was force to flee when the police arrived at the scene. Ami within her disguise was then approached by Director Jung of the South Korean National Intelligence Service who recruited her as an operative with her accepting the offer. (Future Fight Firsts: White Fox v1 #1) Thus, she decided to become a superpowered operative for the nation though this path was said to be a lonely one. Whilst working for the South Korean Intelligence Service, she lived and trained outside Seoul with her facing the constant danger of being 50 kilometres from the Sampalseon. (Domino: Hotshots v1 #4)
One of her super-powered team mates in the service was Gun-R who was an android that despised crime. Eight months later, she was informed that Gun-R had been killed and she was assigned to head the investigation in finding his murderer. (Contest of Champions v1 #1) She managed to determine that Gun-R had been abducted and taken to an alternate universe. Though she had some experience in other dimensions, she was going outside her chosen field and thus consulted with the Ultimates for their aid in finding Gun-R. (Contest of Champions v1 #6)
In her civilian guise, she was approached by Carol Danvers and Abigail Brand about joining the Ulysses Initiative. However, White Fox refused as she disagreed with the pre-emptive measures employed of arresting people based on potential future crimes witnessed by a precognitive. (Civil War II: Choosing Sides v1 #6) She later learnt of a break-in at a government facility where she discovered Solo dressed up as Deadpool who was attempting to steal a hard drive out of Seoul. He attempted to enchant White Fox in order to escape though she had actually flirted with him in order to steal back the drive leaving the mercenary empty-handed when he departed. (Deadpool v4 #1) During the Leviathon Crisis, Xemnu the Titan attacked Seoul where he intended to claim the region as his personal domain and used his telepathic powers to put everyone in a fantasy world within their minds. White Fox was working with Amadeus Cho who was the Hulk during this time where the pair managed to escape the mental manipulation. She was present when Cho helped Xemnu the Titan by punching the extraterrestrial into the ocean after which clean-up operations were made of the city. White Fox thanked Cho for his aid and stated that he had a friend in her after their team-up. (Totally Awesome Hulk v1 #1.MU)
The South Korean government came to learn of a mysterious artefact that landed in the Antarctic with it possessing the means of changing the world. French scientists that discovered it moved to Argentina where they offered the knowledge to anyone that would pay a price for it. Thus, the intelligence agency dispatched White Fox with the goal of securing the artefact where she enlisted the aid of Domino and her team. The mission was joined by Black Widow Natasha Romanova and the Wakandan Atlas Bear. Upon arriving at the site, she bid for the relic when the Argetinan authorities arrived the scene leading to the scientists believing that they were betrayed. It was then discovered that the lead scientist had been 'infected' with the artefact that was of Celestial design where he decided to turn against everyone around him as he believed they betrayed him in order to steal the knowledge he had in his possession. (Domino: Hotshots v1 #1) Ami sought to acquire the Celestial Creation Constellation as a tool for her country bringing her into conflict with her teammates some of whom desired the relic for their own purposes. (Domino: Hotshots v1 #4)
During the War of the Realms, Earth was invaded by the forces of the Dark Council with the Fire Demons emerging in Seoul as the sought to claim Asia as New Muspelheim. White Fox was among the heroes that responded to the invaders where she was joined by the Agents of Atlas. (War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas v1 #1) Under Amadeus Cho's leadership, she and the other Asian heroes were forced to escape in order to stop Sindr the Queen of the Fire Demons from enacting her plans at melting the ice caps to drown the world. (War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas v1 #2)
Director Han later had a meeting with Tae-won following his defeat of an apocalyptic cult after they received a tip of the group claiming that they had gene enhanced that gave them superpowers. An American mercenary believed to be the Taskmaster was believed to had supplied the enhancements with this concerning Ami Han as she was aware of the recent death of Maria Hill that was attributed to the masked supervillain. It was then that she found out that Taskmaster had infiltrated the base and was attempting to escape with Ami having changed into her White Fox guise. She then confronted him and attempted to take him into custody when Black Widow arrived looking to take Taskmaster in for the death of Maria Hill. Taskmaster then used a psychic bomb to knock everyone in the area out except himself who was shielded and escaped from the Tiger Division's headquarters after having completed his mission. (Taskmaster v3 #3) Afterwards, she responded to a new threat from the Korean crime mob who orchestrated a plot to take over the nation. This involved the kidnapping of Taegukgi where they threatened to use him against the nation unless they were placed in charge of the government. White Fox looked to free her teammate but required specialist help where luck would have had it that she learnt that the Black Cat Felicia Hardy was travelling under false credentials through the country. Han had her arrested and forcibly recruited her for the mission to infiltrate the mob's headquarters where they found everyone inside dead. This was because the criminal organization had hired the services of the supervillain Mongdal to take over Taegukgi body through possession. However, he had ambitions of his own where he had his employers murdered and intended to use Taegukgi to devastate the country. However, Black Cat came to use nanomachines on Mongdal and detonated them thus eliminating the threat which freed Tae-Won from his control. (Black Cat Annual v2 #1)
