Project: Defiance was an initiative created by Slade Wilson to create a team of superheroes after he suffered a religious experience that caused him to want to change his ways. This saw him bringing in Wintergreen and his ex-wife Adeline Wilson onto the project where she came to receive support from Admiral Dexter Honore in the U.S. military. Wilson came to be the head of a team of young heroes that came to include Jericho, Rose Wilson, Tanya Spears and Wallace West with Terra also recruited into Defiance. Their first assignment was at the Chetland Islands where a U.S. Embassy was seized and American citizens were taken hostage leading to Deathstroke along with Defiance making their debut before the Justice League could intervene.
