History

Pre-Crisis

Earth-1 was the "main" Earth of the so-called "infinite Earths," and the home of all "modern" heroes (the Martian Manhunter, the Justice League of America, the Teen Titans, the Doom Patrol, etc.) as opposed to "Golden Age" heroes.

Post-Crisis, Post-Zero Hour

After the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Earth-1 merged with elements of all the remaining worlds (Earth-2, Earth-S, Earth-X, and Earth-4) to form the new post-Crisis Earth (dubbed "Earth-Sigma" by some). Earth-1's versions of efforts were the default, and any contradictions from other worlds were lost in the merger. Many Earth-1-derived (pre-merger) hypertimelines also remain throughout hypertime.

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
