History

The T-800 was one of a series of Terminators that were produced by Skynet designed to replace the earlier T-600. In 2018, Skynet began a secret research and development program to develop a new breed of machine that was labelled as the T-800 Model 101 Cell #456 CyberNetic Organism.

To eliminate the threat of John Connor, Skynet made use of time displacement equipment to send a Terminator back in time to eliminate the Resistance leaders mother Sarah Connor in 1984 before she could give birth to her son. Upon learning of this, the Resistance sent one of their own operatives named Kyle Reese to travel into the past as well to stop the Terminator from completing its mission.

In the aftermath, the CPU of the T-800 was recovered and taken by the Cyberdyne corporation for study.

Afterwards, Skynet decided on another attempt at eliminating Connor when he was a child and dispatched the advanced T-1000 prototype back in time to 1995. To stop it, the Resistance came to capture a T-800 Terminator and reprogrammed the machine to protect Connor in the past.

In time, the T-800 came to be considered an obsolete series though was still produced for missions. One such unit modelled after the original Terminator sent back in time was programmed for assassination missions. It was designed to use its appearance to emotionally affect John Connor thus allowing the unit to terminate him. Ultimately, it succeeded in its task but was captured by the Resistance who reprogrammed the machine and sent it back in time to prevent an assassination mission by the T-X prior to Judgement Day.

Overview

In appearance, the T-800 were a series of humanoid machines that were referred to as a cyborg due to being a cybernetic organism. These were designed to be infiltration units that were part human and part machine with a hyperalloy combat chasis with microprocessor controllers and was fully armored to make them highly durable. On the outside, a living human tissue was created that wrapped the Terminators endoskeleton in flesh, skin, hair and blood with this being the trait that made them cyborgs. As such, they looked human with them perform traits such as sweat, bad breath and similar such acts making them very hard to detect.

They were equipped with a neural net processor CPU that was in effective a learning computer. Thus, through contact with humans, the more it learnt to behave as one. Some units were noted to be powered by two hydrogen fuel cells that when ruptured became highly unstable and exploded violently.

It was said that Terminators could not be bargained or reasoned with as they did not feel pity, remorse of fear as instead they were programmed to achieve their objective no matter the cost.

As machines, the units were constructed on assembly lines and built in large numbers.
