History

The Dark Side Club was an establishment and underground club that was located in Manhattan on Earth.

A match was later made between Livewire and the reigning champion Misfit who came to win against their opponent. (Birds of Prey v1 #118)

The Clock King's Terror Titans continued to serve as enforcers for the Dark Side Club where they captured Metahumans that were used to fight in its arena. Among those captured in Los Angeles were Aquagirl Lorena Marquez, Molecule, the Star-Spangled Kid, Terra and Zachary Zatara. The Persuader though felt that Molecule offered no entertainment in the arena thus killing him whilst the others were moved to the Club to be prepared for their matches. (Terror Titans v1 #1)

The new Question came to investigate the Dark Side Club whilst following a trial regarding Dan Turpin and found a mummified body in the abandoned building. At the time, a S.H.A.D.E. team had been sent by Father Time to investigate the club with it being headed by agent Frankenstein. The Question fled the scene before they could get caught whereupon S.H.A.D.E. investigated the club only to find strange symbols that disappeared after they were seen with these findings being reported back to Father Time. (Final Crisis v1 #3)

Overview

According to one account, the Club was a cult founded on the belief that its members were to become 'dark gods'. They believed that the greatest threat to their ascension to godhood was the newest generation of Metahumans and that this danger was to be eliminated. To achieve that end, they used the Club as an underground arena that helped them pave the way to their ascendancy whilst also making obscene amounts of money off the people that they planned to subjugate in the future. (Terror Titans v1 #1) It was said to be a place where gods, monsters and super-powered beings fought one another as gladiators for the entertainment for jaded glitterati in the city. (Birds of Prey v1 #118)

People were captured and forced to fight in the arena where they were doped on something that compelled them to follow the orders of those managing the Club. (Birds of Prey v1 #118)
